Biography__/

Akira Kayosa 's (real name Russ Ogden) affair with electronic music started back in the early 90's when the likes of the Prodigy & the Chemical Brothers were coming to the forefront of the scene, like most young people of his age at the time these were the people he listened to. It wasn't long before his attentions turned towards the new sound developing that was Trance, it seemed every cd that was released he had to buy wether it be Gatecrasher or the Clubbers guide series it was in the bag.

With the likes of Ferry Corsten,Airwave,Flutlicht,Lange, all pioneering this new sound it wasn't long before the turntables had arrived and learning to mix began... Once leaving school in 2000 Russell emigrated down to New Zealand in the southern hemisphere to live with his father, still being rather new to the djing side of things he potterd around the various vinyl houses In Auckland. Before coming across a local dj that ran his own night and radio show (Pumpin), the two struck up an instant friendship and after a few lesson's on the decks it wasn't long before Russ was playing at Pumpin and a regular down at the upfm studio, and all at the age of just 17.

Moving back to the UK in 2003 Russ took up a level music technology which lasted 2 years in total. From this the use of Steinberg's cubase and such like programs gave him the basis to start sequencing dance tracks, 2005 saw the introduction of Propperllerheads Reason, which within months changed the quality of the material Russ was producing, still rewiring with cubase, these two programs provide all of his needs at this point in time with various hardware synthesizers.

Not content on just making and playing music, Russ ran a successful club night in the UK for 2 years with fellow residents Joe Berelli and Will Watson. In this time he played at nights such as Frisky , Baby Slinky , Elements , Freehouse , Wide Awake , Relapse , Musical Minds (Ireland) , Incisions , as well as a host of club nights and radio stations from the UK to New Zealand supporting acts like :- Lisa Pin Up , Charlotte Birch , Lee Pasch , Wid & Ben , JFK, Rob Tissera , Strange Dave , Amp Attack, JP & Jukesy, Nick Rafferty + many more.. Taking 2006 out to concentrate on production 07 will focus more on pushing both productions and djing as a whole.

With digital labels fast becoming part of the dance scene Russ along with Will Watson decided to jump on the bandwagon, on Jan 1st 2006 Resonate Records was started.

With the aim of pushing new and upfront dance music from a fresh wave of producers to the forefront of the scene. Resonate offers a no nonsense way of getting music heard and signed. It's a chance to be heard worldwide and stand alongside some of the best artists around.

Now with Resonate in it's third year, things are still looking good, with tracks coming from artists far and wide , Poland , Russia , United kingdom , Australia, New Zealand, United States. The Resonate sound is going from strength to strength.
